We arrived at the show around 6:30 am to a long line of cars waiting to get in the gate. The wind was howling again this morning and the temp outside was a brisk 30 degrees. Needless to say, we had all the windows rolled up, heads adorned with beanies and coats on. Once the sun came up, I noticed some waters spots from last nights washing, so Dad and I had to brave the wind-chill to spit shine the car.
The wonderful people that provide Donuts and Coffee for the show contestant open the doors a little early and warmed up the building so that we could get some relief from the cold. It was the first time that I can recall being at a car show where most of the cars were left running to keep its occupants warm and toasty. It was weird to walk up and look at a car witch faces looking back at you.
Towards the end of the show, dad got a tap on the window from a show official to inform him that his car was picked to join the winner circle tomorrow. Its very exciting to be picked for an award at such a big regional show. This also means that we have to get the car looking perfect for its runway walk. Dad, Caleb, Jessica and even the grand babies all participated in waxing and polishing the car to a mirror like finish, and boy does it look good.
